Shocking Technologies Secures $7 Million Series A

SAN JOSE, CA -- Semiconductor supplier Shocking Technologies announced that it has received a $7 million first round of investment.

Shocking supplies advanced voltage switchable dielectric materials to the semiconductor and electronics industries.  The company claims that its products help "reduce the cost, size, and time-to-market of consumer electronics and increase their reliability."

Investors in the round were co-led by ARCH Venture Partners and ATA Ventures.  The company intends to use the funding proceeds to accelerate deployment of its products.
